Bed On Bricks to open for Bastille’s SA tour

bed on bricksA first-class local line-up has been selected to perform alongside UK band Bastille in Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town and Emmarentia Dam, Johannesburg.

Bed On Bricks will perform at both Cape Town and the Johannesburg concerts, while Beatenberg and Matthew Mole have been added to the Johannesburg line-up.

Bed On Bricks will be making their eagerly anticipated comeback after a three-year hiatus.

The band’s Dave van der Linden is particularly excited to be performing ahead of Bastille as he shares family ties with Bastille frontman Dan Smith. “It’s going to be amazing to play as Bed On Bricks again and to perform alongside my own family who are in Bastille. We would like to thank Nokia, 5FM and Seed Experiences for this amazing opportunity to celebrate 10 years together as a band,” says Van der Linden.

Bed on Bricks will release a 10-year celebration EP featuring three new tracks and seven remixes of their big hits ahead of the Bastille concerts.

Master guitarist EARL KLUGH has been lauded first as a prodigy and groundbreaker, then a defining figure, and ultimately, as one of the true statesmen of contemporary jazz. Known for his great tone, and heralded by Modern Guitar as “one of the finest acoustic guitar players today”, Klugh worked with George Benson and Return to Forever in the ‘70’s before striking out on his own. His breakthrough came with 1979’s “One on One” a Grammy winning collaboration with Bob James (Fourplay). Since that time the guitarist has amassed 12 Grammy nominations, most recently The Spice of Life.
