2015 Metro FM Award nominations announced

2015 Metro FM nominations have been announced and Gallo Record Company is excited with the artist nominated. It is such an honour to have our artists such as Jonathan Butler “Living My Dream”, Kyle Shepherd “Dream State” nominated in The Best Urban Jazz Album category. Nominated in two categories we have Moneoa “Ndim Lo”  for Best RnB Single of the Year and Best Female Album of the Year as well as DJ QT Presents “Quantized Mix 7” nominated for The Best Gospel Album as well as Best Dance Album of the Year.

This marks 4 artists in total nominated for the 2015 Metro FM Awards from the Gallo Records stable.

Well done also two our other two very deserving nominees in this category: Kyle Sheperd for “South African History !x” [his third SAMA nomination], and Tutu Puoane for “Breathe” [previous 2 x SAMA winner for “Best Vocal Jazz”].

SAMA wins for The Dirty Skirts & The Plain Truth

2 Feet Music and Sheer Group congratulates our SAMA winners as The Dirty Skirts walk away with the “Best Alternative Album” award for their album “Lost In The Fall”, and The Plain Truth receive the SAMA for “Best Contemporary Faith Music Album” for their album “We Are The Shining Ones” – a first SAMA win for both bands!

“We slaved over ‘Lost in the fall’ and are thrilled that the effort has been recognised with a SAMA.” replies an overwhelmed David Moffatt, from The Dirty Skirts, when asked about their SAMA win.

The Dirty Skirts have also just released their brand new single “Don’t Throw Away Your Dancing Shoes” taken from the SAMA winning album “Lost In The Fall” and the music video for the single is due for release later in May. An elated Gareth Lee from The Plain Truth responds, “Congrats to all the nominees and winners of the SAMA’s this year. It was an awesome production! The stakes were high and the competition was fierce, but at the end of the day, the real winner is South African music! We are so excited to have won the SAMA – it’s a real honor! Well done to the other bands in our category as well. We’ll see you again next year!”

The Plain Truth are also currently writing for their new album, which is set to be recorded early in October and released for Christmas 2012.
