ESJAY JONES “Made In RSA” tour announced!

South Africa’s Queen of Rock & Roll and former front woman of Stealing Love Jones, Esjay Jones, returns to South Africa for her “Made In RSA” tour.

Taking her explosive solo performance across SA from 1 to 14 November, Esjay will be embarking on an unplugged tour with a difference… Joining her will be USA DJ Shasta for an evening of music and madness not to be missed!

After the incredible success Stealing Love Jones achieved in South Africa, Esjay Jones left SA in 2009 to pursue her International Music career in the USA, basing herself in San Diego and playing at local venues while commuting up to Los Angeles. It took barely two years of working the live music scene circuit in California for Esjay to be discovered by Tom Maffei and signed to Primary Wave Management. Esjay started working as a songwriter / top-liner and producer for the world’s biggest top 40 artists. Only established for a short time in Los Angeles, Esjay Jones was head hunted by world-renowned producer JR Rotem and Zach Katz and signed to Beluga Heights as a songwriter and development producer. Since then Esjay Jones has worked with Sean Kingston, Akon, Rihanna, Shakira, Jeffree Star, Alex Da Kid, The Underdogs, Hook N Sling, Semi Precious Weapons and the list goes on.

With all of this said, Esjay Jones is living her dream. Not only is she working behind the scenes, but there is also talk of her putting out another album. “I’m so blessed and grateful for the amazing opportunities that I have been given, not only in Los Angeles but also in South Africa and can’t wait to get back home to give my fans, friends and family a taste of what I have been living over here. No band, No Bullsh*t, just me!”

Her new single “TDTF” will be released to South African radio from the 17th of October and will be available for digital download along with other exclusive new singles. Go to www.2feetmusic.com for all the info.

It’s been 3 years since her last South Africa, so don’t miss out on seeing Esjay perform live in South Africa this November 2012. You can find all of her tour dates at www.esjayjones.com

Manu Dibango – Past Present Future

For the first time in 16 years, Manu Dibango goes into the studio to create, compose and record new music. He is surrounded by the new generation of talented artists from around the world, such as Wayne Beckford, Passi, Oum, Pit Baccardi, Safehaus etc… Manu has captured each of their musical universes, which gives the album a unique sound. It’s already a classical album in the long and prestigious musical catalogue of Manu Dibango. Past Present Future, the new studio album by Manu Dibango, is a mix of pop – afrofunk – soul – hip hop – electro rock and jazz. A novel album reflecting the changing musical times. Engaged and groovy!

Manu Dibango is the first artist with African origins to be number 1 on the US Billboard with the planetary hit Soul Makossa, recorded in 1972. Rihanna, Jay-Z, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Will Smith, Kanye West, Milli Vanilli. Fugees, Wyclef Jean, Mark Wahlberg, A Tribe Called Quest and of course The King of Pop himself Michael Jackson are on the long list of artists who have sampled Manu Dibango. Manu has released over 35 albums.

Manu Dibango is Cameroon’s, and perhaps Africa’s, best-known jazz saxophonist. Starting in the 1950s, he became a globe-trotting musician, living and performing in France, Belgium, Jamaica, Zaire, and Cote d’Ivoire, as well as in Cameroon. In 1960, Dibango was one of the founding members of the Zairean band African Jazz. World attention came to Dibango with the release in 1972 of Soul Makossa. Dibango’s output has been prodigious and multi-faceted. He has worked with musicians such as Fela Kuti, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Don Cherry, and the Fania All-Stars. He served as the first chairman of the Cameroon Music Corporation and was appointed a UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2004.

Manu Dibango performs at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz on the Conga Stage on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25.
